Overview

Equitek, a leading company in Mexico, specializes in making machines for bottling, capping, and labeling. They wanted to update their brand to show their advanced technology and support their move into the U.S. market. With over 35 years of experience, Equitek had a good name in industries like food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, and agrochemicals. They worked with us, Gialli Marketing, to carry out a full rebranding project to improve their market presence and widen their global reach.

Challenges

Equitek's old brand identity was outdated and did not show their technological advancements or their edge in the global market. The main goals of the rebranding project were to create a modern, cohesive brand identity, develop marketing materials for an international audience, and highlight their technological innovations and commitment to quality.

Execution

We provided a comprehensive range of services to achieve Equitek’s rebranding goals:

  • Brand Audit and Internal Branding: Conducted workshops to understand the current state of the brand, employee perceptions, and desired objectives. Defined core brand elements, including brand purpose, mission, vision, and core values.
  • Market Research: Analyzed the brand's performance relative to its goals, identified new and existing competitors, and uncovered strategic opportunities. This phase included audience analysis and competitor research.
  • Brand Positioning Strategy: Developed a strategy to differentiate the brand, reinforce its unique qualities, and effectively communicate product value. This included identifying unique selling propositions (USPs) and creating a positioning statement.
  • Brand Personality and Voice: Created guidelines for the brand’s personality and voice, including communication style, story structure, tone, taglines, and key messages.
  • Visual Brand Expression: Designed a strong visual identity, including an updated logo, color palette, and typography. Mood boards and sketches were refined through iterative feedback from Equitek’s leadership to finalize the designs.
  • Final Review and Training: Conducted training sessions on the proper use of the brand’s visual and communication elements, ensuring understanding of the connection between brand strategy and expression.

Outcome

The rebranding project led to significant improvements in Equitek’s market perception and business results. The modern visual identity and strategic messaging improved Equitek’s visibility and appeal in global markets, especially in the U.S. Clients and employees welcomed the new brand positively, with employees feeling more motivated and proud of the updated identity. The rebranding led to a notable rise in inquiries and sales, showing the success of the new marketing strategies.

Salvador Ramirez, Chief Operations Officer at Equitek, praised the impact of the rebranding:

"We are really seeing the impact of our new brand. Not only was it well received by our clients, our employees seemed more motivated. This positive response is reflected in the growth we've experienced over the past two years since working with Gialli."
